Next semester I have a memoir class on lock which is taught by a novelist who is currently working on her third book, a memoir. I will finally be forced to write (finish) it, as painful as it may be. I am also working on forming a directed study for myself where I will be compiling stories of veterans from Vietnam and World War II for a separate book.
So, basically, if I get the directed study on lock I will be working on two (TWO!) books next semester. Kind of intimidating, but I'm just going to treat them as if they are any other class - peck away at each one every week and hope that the end result is something legible.
I. Love. Education.
If I end up in school forever, do not be surprised. I've found my home.

Oh, Karie, that is so exciting and so awesome! <3
Wonderful stuff. There are so many stories out there than need to be told.
And Education is a great place to be!
I was thinking about you just yesterday since I had not seen a blog post lately. And here you are!!!
Congrats on the new course. I am sure you will knock it out of the park.
Best of luck Karie. It is good to have a plan.
Wow, I am SO impressed! I would love to write a book but I lack the self discipline, that's for sure. Good luck and have fun!
there are plenty of career students. If you graduate you can always go back and teach
How fantastic. I love learning!
I miss school all the time and am constantly thinking about and talking about going back. People think I'm nuts. I just wish I could afford it and in a heartbeat I would be back. Glad to know I'm not alone. good luck in your adventures. can't wait to read more!
Karie,
I'm so glad you'll have to do this for a class. Just think of it as school work and ignore everything else. You can do it. (And I'm still here for you if you need advice on writing a book.)
Thank you Teresa! I've obviously put it to the side. It was draining and I haven't had time with school so I'm REALLY glad that I can now do it FOR school. I will send you what I have as I write it, if you'd like. I'd love your input.
Karie,
Yes, I would love that. Keep thinking of you. So happy things are going so well for you.
I.Love.Education. (as well). That's why I have eight degrees (before I became a military spouse). I really tried hard to stay a full time student, but alas, money called. So, I stayed in education - but this time as a teacher.
Your goals are admirable, hope you achieve them and more! You have such an amazing spirit and energy about you.
