I spent the weekend with one of my main widdas, Kelly, learning to scuba dive and it was awesome! Our open water dives are scheduled for the week after next. I can't wait! There is something about effortlessly floating through water (without feeling like you are going to suffocate) that is indescribably amazing. This is something I remember my dad doing when I was a child and have always wanted to do. The fact that I finally did it makes me so happy!
I don't have pictures from class, but I plan to get some when we do our open water dives in a few weeks. I shall report back.
Here's to tons of vitamin D and a whole new part of the world for me to explore!

10 words of wisdom:
I know a few scuba divers and they all think it is the best thing ever.
Maybe you should train to be an instructor? I can think of far worse ways of paying the bills!
Getting scuba certified changed my life! The world under the sea is incredible! Enjoy :)

Hope you have a blast! I'm too terrified of large bodies of water and sea animals to ever do that, but I have a tonne of respect for those that do :D
All I can say is WOW. to you, to your person and what you achieved. You're a true inspiration. My boyfriend is currently on tour in Afghan and it's been the hardest time of my life. I hardly hear from him and I'm in constant worry. I learned a lot during the past 5ish months though. Now we've got a couple of weeks left, but it feels like a lifetime. I'm so amazed by how you deal with everything that's thrown at you. Thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for opening my eyes. not sure if you remember me or not. i had contacted you a little less than a year ago about how i read your blog top to bottom. even taking my laptop into the bathroom with me to finish reading certain posts. i am so glad to see you're still taking charge of your life after all that has happened. i hope you'll stop by my new blog and maybe follow me, or something.
xoxo to you, karie.
@Rock Chef
That definitely would NOT be the worst job in the world! I'm not sure I'm THAT adventurous,though. I'm okay with risking my own life for crazy adventures, but the thought of putting others lives in my hands is a little scary!
@Tabitha
Sea animals are definitely scary. I'm just going to take that little hurdle as it comes!
@Van
Wow! What a compliment. Thank you so much. <3
I hope the next couple of weeks of deployment go by nice and fast for you.

How could I forget you? Your e-mail was awesome. Thank you so much. <3 I'm headed over right after this comment to follow you on your new blog.
I just did my open water dives this past weekend in the Puget Sound! I don't know who decides to get certified in March in Northern Washington, but it was amazing. You are going to love it.
